Someone on some astronomy message board was excited to see a “sungrazer comet” plunge into a sun the other day. Well, here’s a ship today exiting the sun at… wait, how fast?

Let’s do some math. D = RT, right? So, the diameter of the sun is about 865,000 miles, so… let’s say that’s about 2.6M miles for the ship to travel OUT of the sun’s SOURCE portal (!) in this pic, and the exposure time for the LASCO C2 is 26 seconds for one image, so… that object is going about 100,000 miles per second, or 360,000,000 mph. The speed of light is 670,616,629 mph, so the above object is going basically half the speed of light, which is perhaps not as amazing as the fact that it has just exited a gynormous SOURCE portal inside the sun.  / schrödingersothercat.blog
